Fun filled Saturday & a visit with Santa

 

 

 

 

We were also invited to a Christmas party after the birthday party so we headed across town to visit the Connell family. The kids had a blast playing with all of Daniley's toys & each other. Shortly after everyone ate we had a suprise visitor, Santa! The kids were beyond excited & were waiting at the back door for him to come off of the roof from his sleigh. I thought Katie would be a little scared but she was very excited. She was one of the last ones to sit in his lap, but finally got up there & told him she wanted a red bike from him. All of the kids also got a present from Santa & that made them excited too. We had so much fun & seeing them get excited makes me more anxious for Christmas this year, I can't wait! Thanks again for having us at the party I hope we can do it again next year!!

Lexi's 4th birthday

 

 

 

 

We were invited to Katie's cousin Lexi's birthday party yesterday, she is actually my cousin's daughter. She had a party at a dance studio & the girls had so much fun! Katie was excited about being a ballerina for the day & I even bought her tights, a leotard & slippers. I really wanted to sign her up for dance this past fall but I didn't know where we would be living throughout the year & didn't want to commit to anything. (We are in the process of getting our house ready to sell) Hopefully we will be somewhere settled so she can start with Mrs. Lynn next year.
They started off the party with a dance class teaching them the basics of dance, my child just stood there almost like she was in shock, she didn't do anything! Hopefully she will do better if I sign her up for dance! After that they sang Happy Birthday, & then did face painting. Once Katie got a little sugar in her she was running all over the place. She had so much fun at the party & I thought it was a great idea for a little girls birthday party, maybe we can do that one year!

The Elf on the Shelf showed up at our house on Wednesday, we got home from shopping & he was sitting on the table in her room with his book. I read the story to Katelyn & then we came up with a name for him, we call him "Pete" or sometimes she still calls him "Elf on the Shelf". Katie has so much fun waking up every morning & seeing what "Pete" has done. The first night he was here he took all of the socks out of her drawer & threw them on the floor & was sitting in her drawer the next morning. The day after that he was sitting in her chair eating apple jacks, she cleaned them up out of her chair, put them in the bowl & then she ate them! He moved the next night & was sitting on the wreath & last night while she was gone to Mimi & Papa's he went into her room & was hanging from the light. She called me first thing & asked about him & I told her he was in her room because he was waiting on her to get home. I could hear the excitement in her voice when she found out he had moved. I'm so glad he showed up at her house this year, it has been fun for all of us. He has definitely helped keep her on the nice list this year!

4 months old!

 

 

 

 

Yesterday Will turned 4 months old, where does the time go? He had his check up Monday & weighed 14lb. 14oz. & was 25 3/4" long & his head was 16 1/4". Longer than Katie & about a 1 lb. less. We went in because he has been spitting up a lot & he has been put on several medicines & nothing seems to help. Over the weekend he had gotten very fussy & I could tell he wasn't himself. The Dr. recommended another formula (Alimentum) & an additional medicine to take with the prevacid he is already on if the formula doesn't help. Well, I can tell it has helped a little but it looks like we may be trying the medicine soon. The Dr. also said we may have to go to the GI doctor if none of this works, I pray one of these will work or at least keep him from being uncomfortable. All of this is new to us, Katelyn spit up but nothing like Will. This boy has already proven to be a completely different baby from his big sister!
Will is a very happy baby (when he is not spitting up) & "talks" all of the time. I think he may pick that up from Katie because she runs her mouth constantly. He smiles all of the time & he is trying very hard to roll over so I'm sure that will happen any day now. He has been sleeping through the night for over a month now. I have tried a little baby food but he just spits that up too so I may wait a little bit longer on that. He is such a mommas boy too, he doesn't really care for anyone else, he cried when the nurse measured his head the other day b/c she was touching him.

We watched the Iron Bowl at Lynn & Scott's Friday. I was pretty nervous the first half of the game but so glad the Tigers pulled out a win! Will went with us & Katie stayed at Mimi & Papa's during the game. He was so good & even sat & watched the game for a while, he wore his Alabama colors & Katie was in Auburn, I know Mimi & Papa wanted to kill me for dressing her in all of that orange & blue but she looked so cute!

Thanksgiving Day

 

 

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year, we went to Mimi & Papa's & had a lot of family there, some I have never met. Brad's grandmother was there, she lives in a nursing home & his dad brought her up for the day & I know it was a great day for her. We had some great food, I made the dressing & mac & cheese. Every year I go to my grandmother's house the day before & make dressing with her, I thought it tasted pretty good. I still have a long way to go before it is as good as hers though. We had a great day & there were so many things to be thankful for this year!

That is a purse applique on her shirt if anyone was wondering. Gramps & Becca couldn't seem to figure it out! I also couldn't pass up a picture of my dad & Katelyn.
