These pictures were from Saturday night, unfortunately Lynn couldn't join us but was there in spirit & we missed her very much. We went to dinner & then hit Bourbon Street. There truly are some strange people in this world & I think most of them are on Bourbon Street, you liable to see anything out there! We had such a great trip & were in some good company. RJ, Jennifer, Booger, Rachel, Scott & Lynn thank you for making memories with us, we will never forget this trip & I hope we can do it again next year.

We went to New Orleans this past weekend & had a great getaway! It was a little tough leaving her that morning & I cried just a few times but it was also a much needed vacation for the two of us. Brad & I flew down with Scott & Lynn on Friday & were there early enough to eat breakfast at Cafe Du Monde. After breakfast we walked around Jackson Square & ended up at the oldest bar in America, it was pretty cool place to go have a beer!

First time in the Pool!

We went to our friends house Saturday for their annual fish fry. Katelyn finally got to wear her bathing suit & really enjoyed being in the pool. She didn't cry until we got out & she realized how wet she was & wanted everything off quick! She was so good all day & is such as sweetheart! I can't wait take her back & do it again!

Family Heirloom

 

 

 

 

This dress Katie is in belonged to my grandmother "Mimi" it was her christening gown & my great-grandmother made it for her. It was given to me in poor condition with a few stains & was extremely yellow, but had no tears. I was so disappointed in the way it looked & the fact it wasn't taken care of all of these years, but was glad to have it in my hands so I knew I had to do something with it. I received it right before Katelyn was born & never got around to taking it somewhere to have it fixed. I finally went to a the cleaners a month ago & the lady said it may tear if they did anything to it because it is so delicate. There was no way I was leaving it with them, I would rather it had to stay yellow than be torn & white. They did tell me what I could do to try to fix it myself & sure enough with a little elbow grease I got almost all of the yellow out & the stains are gone. I wish I had a before & after picture the difference is truly amazing to me! Anyway, I had to put it on Katelyn before her little chubby arms out grow it & take a few pictures. As you can see she was being her silly self & moving all over the place so I didn't get any good pictures. I may have another week to get a few more so I will have to try again pretty soon. My intentions were to have her christened in this dress, but I have obviously waited to long. At least it is in better condition for her all of the other babies in our family to use it.

Katie is so funny these days, she is always sticking her tounge out & making silly faces. She is truly a very happy little girl & we are so thankful for that. I took some of these pictures after her Dr. appointment on Friday. We had to go back & make sure her ears are all better & they finally are!! At 5 months, she now weighs 17lb. 6 oz. & is 26 1/2" long. She is a very healthy little girl!
