Jamey Johnson Concert

A couple of weeks ago we went to the Jamey Johnson concert at the Alabama Theater, which is so beautiful! I wasn't crazy about his music before, but after the concert he has definitely grown on me. Brad & I had a great time & I really enjoyed a much needed date night with my husband.

Pictures from the last few days

I know I've gotten a little lazy blogging lately but I have been so busy making oufits, t-shirts, & getting in some Christmas shopping. Here are some pictures of Katelyn over the last few days, she had hair up in a ponytail & it was so cute I had to share. Our little girl is growing up so fast it seems like just yesterday I was sticking bows to her head with toothpaste because she didn't have enough hair to clip one to. I can't believe she will be 2 in a little over a month, I wish she would stop getting so big!

Happy Birthday Reese & Charlie!!

Katelyn was invited to Reese & Charlie's birthday party yesterday at Gymboree. She had so much fun & I know she missed seeing her friends Reese & Charlie, she hasn't seen them since August! They had a great party & all of the kids had a ball. Thanks for inviting Katie to be part of their special day!

Disney on Ice

Katelyn, Amanda, & I had such a great time at Disney on Ice Saturday, thank you Mimi!! We got there just as the show was starting. We saw Minnie & Mickey first & Katelyn was still taking it all in. The first part of the show was Aladdin, well the Genie freaked Katelyn out! Not only was there 1 Genie that scared her here the next thing I know there were about 40 of them out there skating. Then next set was Nemo & there were big sharks, followed by Pinocchio with the big Whale! I thought we were going to have to leave!!! She figured out she could cover her eyes with my hands so she couldn't see the "scary" things. I think she just didn't know what to expect & where we were at first. I don't know why my child is so scared of everything! She finally warmed up & every time she saw Mickey & Minnie she got so excited but couldn't understand why they kept leaving, they were the hosts of the show & it was more based on the Disney movies, most of which she has never seen. She kept saying "Where did Mickey go?" I really enjoyed the show & I know she will enjoy it more next year after she sees all of the movies!

Recipes!!

So, my friend Allison & I have come up with the idea to start sending recipes to all of our friends! It is perfect for the holidays coming up! Here is what you do:

Post a recipe to your blog and then add 3 names at the end of it. Go to their blog and leave them a comment letting them know to go to your page to check out a recipe. Then, they post their favorite recipe to their page and let 3 more people know what to do and so on. You can put your favorite recipe whether it be entrees, snacks, desserts, drinks, etc.

Chunky Apple Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

1/2 cup butter, melted
2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
4 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced (if you have an apple peeler & slicer it makes this so easy
1 cup chopped walnuts, toasted (optional)

Cream Cheese Frosting
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Chopped Walnuts, toasted (optional)

The Recipe
Stir together first 4 ingredients in a large bowl until blended.
Combine flour and next 3 ingredients; add to butter mixture, stirring until blended. Stir in apple slices and 1 cup walnuts. Spread into a greased 13- x 9-inch pan.
Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Spread with Cream Cheese Frosting; sprinkle with walnuts, if desired.

Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe
Beat cream cheese and butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add sugar and salt, beating until blended. Stir in vanilla.

Finished Pottery

I picked up my pottery yesterday from the party we had last month & I LOVE it!! The picture on the top left is a step stool for Katelyn & she had a fit over it & carried it all over the house last night. I'm sure she will be into everything now especially the sinks! The picture next to that is something for myself, last year I had an ornament made for the tree but this time I really wanted something for me. It is a cookie jar with her hands, feet, finger & toe prints all over it! Last is a coffee mug we did for daddy I wanted to save it for Christmas but I accidently showed him pictures from the party that day & forgot those were on there, oh well! I highly recommend "Little Impressions Pottery" if you are interested in getting pieces for yourself or as gifts, I have been happy with everything I have had done from them!
