Mommy's 30th Birthday

 

Yesterday was my birthday & we celebrated by having dinner at one of my favorite places Firebirds for dinner. I really wanted a picture of all of us but it's kind of hard to do when it's just the 3 of us. As you can see Katelyn didn't want to cooperate with any picture but these few turned out ok. I love my husband & daughter so much & enjoyed spending my birthday with them!

Christmas at Mimi & Papa's

 

 

We headed to Mimi & Papa's for lunch after we opened all of our presents. Katelyn got more presents from them & Amanda. She loved her minnie & goofy & had so much fun unwrapping everything. She wore her Christmas dress Mimi got her & she looked so pretty! We were definiately worn out after all of the excitement of Christmas & we are very thankful to have such a wonderful family to spend time with! We love all of you very much & thank you for everything!!!!

Santa came to see Katie!

 

 

 

Katelyn must have been a very good little girl this year because Santa was very good to her! She was so funny when she saw everything, I think she was still asleep because she just walked from one thing to the next & looked at it. I guess she is going to be like her daddy & not get super excited about things. Katelyn has seen the jeeps in the store but hasn't seen one go so I don't think she knew that she could actually drive it. She was sitting in her car checking it out & pushed the gas, well the car started to go & the look on her face was priceless, she looked at me like why did it do that & get me out of here!! I was lucky enough to get that on video! It scared her & now she won't touch the peddle on the floor, It's going to take some time to get her use to it but once she figures it out we won't be able to keep her out of it.

She got several other toys that will keep her busy until it warms up enough to get outside & ride her jeep! Her birthday is in 2 weeks so I'm sure she will get even more toys to play with but I think we may have to start sending some of it to her grandparents house!

Christmas Eve

 

 

 

 

We had a great Christmas Eve this year, Brad & I cooked our first Christmas dinner & my dad, grandmother & grandfather ate dinner with us. We cooked ham, dressing, mac & cheese, greenbean casserole, sweet potato casserole & pecan pie for dessert everything turned out perfect! I made my grandmother's dressing & it was my first attempt & at it. Everyone seemed to like it especially her which meant a lot to me! We opened presents with Gramps & Katie got so many great gifts, it looked like Christmas morning! I can't wait to do it again next year I really enjoyed cooking for everyone & hopefully it will become a tradition at our house.

Katelyn also made cookies for Santa & she had so much fun using her cookie cutters & rolling pin, she didn't want to stop! When we put the cookies out for Santa she had to sneak one of course. They were very good & santa ate them all!

Talan's Birthday

 

 

We were invited to Talan's birthday the weekend before Christmas & had a blast. The firetruck showed up & the kids loved it. Well everyone except my kid, like I've said before she is scared of everything & a big firetruck was no exception! She did have fun eating cake & playing with all of the other kids though. Thanks for inviting us & thank you Dan for sending me some pictures!

So as most of you know by now we didn't send out Christmas cards this year. I just let it get by this year & with our crazy weather it has been too cold or raining here lately to get them done. I did attempt to do some in front of the tree one night but as you can see they didn't go that great. I thought I would share a few of them.

Big girl bed

 

 

We finally converted Katelyn's bed this week. She attempted to climb out of her crib a few weeks ago so we decided it was time! She has done pretty good with it so far but has already figured out how easy it is to get out of it in the middle of the night. We still need to work on that! I can't believe our little girl will be 2 in less than a month, she is growing up so fast!

Tacky Christmas Party

 

 

 

 

 

 

We decided to change things up this year & do a tacky party. From the way it went last night it looks like they will be this way from now on. It was so fun to see everyone participate & everyone was proud to show off their thrift store purchases. Next year I will put a lot more thought into our outfits & hopefully they will be a little better. Brad & I bought our shirts 2 days before the party so we were very last minute but had some great finds. We are so lucky to have such great friends to spend the holidays with & our parties get better every year.

Sadie's new bed

 

Well it's that time of year again & Sadie has to come inside when it gets really cold. I bought her a new bed the other day & Katelyn was so excited to give it to her. I bet she sat on the bed & floor with talking to her for 45 min. I had a few good laughs the way she was talking to her & got some great video. She is a bossy little girl!

Look who found a sharpie! I have to write her name on everything for MDO & as soon as I put that sharpie down in her room I thought, (DON'T forget to put this up)! Of course I was in a hurry & completely forgot about it, luckily I caught her with it before it did too much damage! I don't know how she managed to get that dot perfectly centered, thank God it wasn't her eye.
