Being Silly

 

Today Katie & I were laying in the floor & she turned her giggle box on. She was so funny just laughing & being so sweet, I'm glad I was able to get a few pictures, I usually can't get many of her smiling.

Everytime Katelyn gets out of the bath her hair is so curly, I love it! I wish it was this curly all of the time usually when it dries it still curly but not like this.

These are Katelyn's 1st birthday pictures. My friend Kristy was nice enough to drive all the way out here in the sticks to take them for me. I LOVE the way they turned out, Kristy did you did such a great job & thank you sooooo much! I did some editing on these pictures, so if they look bad, I take full credit! Now I have choose which ones to hang on the wall & I don't know how I am going to pick my favorite.

My new hobby, I hope

 

 

I had my first sewing class today, I didn't take it in high school so I am an absolute beginner. These are the fabrics I picked out for the two outfits I will be making. The first one is for a bubble outfit that will be reversible & the second is for an A line dress. I can't wait to see the finished product, I just hope it is something that I will let her wear in public. Who knows maybe I can keep making her outfits instead of paying an arm & a leg for them. I am keeping my fingers crossed!!

We went to my grandmother's house this past Sunday for dinner & Katie got to play with her cousins. Well these are my cousins little girls so I guess these are her second cousins or something like that. In the picture is Katie (1), Lexi (2) & Haley (3).

Sadie has been inside the last few nights & Katelyn has enjoyed waking up & seeing her every morning. I have to block the living room off so Sadie won't lay on the rugs & so Katelyn will stay away from her. I still don't trust Sadie around her because she is so big & she is getting old & doesn't want to be bothered sometimes. I can tell Sadie likes Katelyn because she always wants to give her five, but I never let her get that close. She is also still pretty jealous of Katelyn because she barks at us if we give her too much attention. I hope she is around for a long time because she has been the best dog & I want Katie to enjoy her too.

1 year check up

 

Katie had her check up Monday & everything was great! She weighs 23 lbs. 4 oz. & is 30 1/4" long. She also had to have 4 shots & has 1 more in a month then she will be done until she is 4!! We are so lucky to have such a healthy little girl & I hope it stays that way.

Katelyn's 1st Birthday

After decorating for the party Friday afternoon I went had to put Katelyn's present together so she got it a little early. She has been sitting in it since she got it & likes to climb up & down off of it over & over. The bottom pictures are of Katelyn opening her gift from Mimi & Papa. Papa couldn't wait until her party so she opened them early too. She got her first diamonds, a beautiful pair of earrings & I can't wait to put them in!

In a year...

I don't know where to begin, this past year has been the most amazing year of my life. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful loving husband & unbelievably amazing daughter. As everyone says "you never knew you could love something so much" & "you will never know until you have your own child." I agree with that 110%! I am so fortunate to be able to stay at home with her everyday even on the days she tests my patience. I love being a mother & can't wait to do it again (not too soon). Katelyn is so smart & loving & I can't believe how much a child can learn in just one year. I hope we can give her wonderful life & teach her to be a smart, sweet, & loving person.

We had an unforgettable day! We had her first birthday party at Mimi & Papa's house & it was perfect! I'm not sure Katie knew what was going on half of the time but she was entertained by all of the kids that were there. We have the most amazing friends & family that anyone could ask for & I am so thankful to everyone for making Katelyn's first birthday so special. I look forward to many more to come & hope every one can be just at memorable!

I was also beginning to wonder if my child would walk by the time she turned one & today she was showing out & walking all over the house. I guess you could say it is offical now, before today she had only taken about 4-5 steps at a time & now she can walk all the way across the room. Better late that never!

Pierced Ears

 

I took Katelyn to get her ears pierced Friday. This is something I have wanted to do for a while now & with her having so many ear infections in the past I wanted to wait until she would stop pulling at her ears. I was very nervous when it came time to get them pierced & I thought I was going to throw up! I felt so bad at the time for doing it but I would much rather do it now instead of a year or two when she will actually remember it. I remember having mine done vividly & it was a terrible experience. My mom had to talk me into going back & getting the other ear done because for some reason they didn't do them both at the same time. Other than Katelyn being scared of the to ladies that kept messing with her ears, she did good, once we left the store she was fine. I think she looks even cuter now & I am so glad I got that over with.

We had a pretty laid back New Year's Eve last night considering I didn't make it to midnight. We went to Tammy's to eat dinner & when it came time for dessert, they brought out a cake with candles on it. It took me a second to realize it was for me, the first thing that ran through my head was oh crap whose birthday did I forget & I took a glance around the room. Then I realized they were walking to me. I have the best friends & they really suprised me, I was not expecting that at all! Tammy, you finally got me back for all of those years I got you.

Got Milk?

 

I know, cheesy but I had to! Katelyn has been off of the bottle for about a week now & has been drinking whole milk for a few weeks, she did very good with the transition from bottle to sippy cup. It was a lot easier than the pacifier. She has FINALLY cut her 3rd tooth. It has been trying to come through for a month now, I thought it would never break through & we have had one moody little girl. Maybe she will sleep a little better, at least until the next one comes.

Brad & Katelyn took me out to dinner for my birthday Saturday. We had a great dinner & I enjoyed spending time with my family. This is the only picture I took, can you believe I almost forgot to take a picture!?
