Happy Anniversary!!

 

I can't believe it has been 5 years ago today that I married my best friend! It seems like we have been married a lot longer than that since we have been together for 13 years now. That day was one of the happiest days of my life & I'm so thankful I married such a wonderful person to call my husband. If you would have asked me what we would be doing for our 5 year anniversary when we got married I would have said, "we will be having dinner at Ruth's Chris & staying the night at the Embassy Suites", just like we did on our wedding night. Well I never thought I would be pregnant with our second child, who is due any day now & possibly having our anniversary dinner at the hospital. I wouldn't change anything about my life the way it is today, I have a wonderful husband, daughter, & baby boy on the way & I couldn't be happier! So, where do I think we will be celebrating our anniversary in the next 5 years...NOT pregnant, hopefully on vacation somewhere tropical like we did on our honeymoon! I look forward to many, many more anniversaries together!

One more week!!!

 

Only one more week & we get to meet Will!!! I get more excited everyday knowing there is a definite end in sight. This little boy has kept us on our toes this week. I have been having contractions on & off since Monday afternoon so we thought we may end up at the hospital before next week. I had some pretty strong & consistent ones last night but they don't seem to stick around. We are getting very anxious & our bags are packed we are ready whenever he may come between now & next week. I will keep everyone posted & let you know if he decides to come before then.

Not much longer!!

I had my 37 week appointment today & had some good news, looks like we will get to meet our baby boy by Aug 5th at the latest. My Dr. said he would induce me if I haven't had him by then. I have dilated 2cm. already & have been having a few more contractions so there is always a good possibility that he will be here before then. We are very excited & it's so hard to believe we get to meet our baby boy in just a few more days!!!

Swimming with Gramps & Gigi

 

Today we went swimming at Gigi's mother's house, Katelyn had such a good time floating around the pool in her life jacket & squirting everyone with water guns. I also enjoyed feeling a little lighter in the pool:) We had a great lunch & really enjoyed spending time with Gramps & Gigi even though it rained on & off.

37 Weeks

 

I really hate this picture of myself but it's the only one I have for a 37 week picture so I guess it will do. I have been swelling a lot more & getting more uncomfortable, & have also had a few contractions, nothing to be concerned about yet. We are getting very anxious to meet our little boy & I can't believe I only have a few more weeks left or maybe sooner!

First Dentist Visit

The dentist visit went just as expected yesterday, she did great up until it was time to brush her teeth. I was suprised when she let them put the mirror in her mouth without crying but the toothbrush they used to clean her teeth & the flouride just weren't her thing! She wanted to sit in her daddy's lap but was screaming for me once they started, of course! I guess I could say if they didn't have to clean her teeth she would have done great, she still got a few prizes so hopefully she will remember that for our next visit. I really like the dentist we used & it is set up perfectly for kids, mine is just one that is going to act like that no matter where we go.

Finally, just in time!!

 

So we haven't pressed the issue of potty training mainly because everytime we mentioned it to her she told us she didn't want to use the potty & she wanted to wear diapers or pitched a fit. We have wanted to have her potty trained for a while now & especially since baby brother will be here in a few weeks, I really didn't want two in diapers! Tuesday I decided I would try again & it went suprisingly well. We set the timer & went every 10-20 min. several times & she did great & of course she was rewarded with candy. After her nap she went straight to her potty & went two times! I didn't think she would try again, but she did & kept doing it up until bed time with only one accident. She still has to sleep in pull-ups right now & wear them if we leave the house because she has not mastered #2 yet. We had to go to the dentist yesterday but as soon as we got home she was right back at it & has been doing great today too. I hope she continues to stick with it & will be completely potty trained soon! I am so proud of her & how well she has done with it so far!

Katie's 1st Haircut

 

 

Yesterday we went to Sweet & Sassy for Katelyn's first haircut. She really just got a trim to even out her hair. She did exactly like I thought she would & cried, she doesn't like anyone messing with her especially a stranger. It only took a few minutes & we were out of there after some glitter in her hair & stamps on her hand. We left to have lunch right around the corner & I noticed it was a little uneven. So we went back by there after lunch so the girl could take a little more off & she did great the second time, I guess she knew she would get more glitter this time. I think you can tell which set of pictures are from the first & second visits. Now that she knows what to expect I think haircuts will be easier from now on.

She has her first dentist visit next week, that will be a completely different story, I am trying to prepare myself for the worst!

Counting down the days!

 

Tomorrow will be 30 days to go! I made this countdown for Katelyn a while back I think I started with 50 days to go & everyday she will pull one ring off. I'm so glad we are in the last month because I'm starting to get pretty uncomfortable, having a summer pregnancy is definitely worse than a winter baby!! It hasn't really bothered me until the last couple of weeks because of the heat. We made our last trip to Al. Adventure Friday, I just don't think I can waddle in & out of that place one more time, it's too HOT! I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that Will may come a little early, that would be GREAT!!

Braelyn's 2nd Birthday

 

After Emma's party we headed to Braelyn's birthday, it was much cooler for the kids but not the adults. There was a huge waterslide the kids played on. Katelyn didn't care too much for it & I think it was because there were so many kids on it. I sat out there as long as I could then we headed in the house where everyone eventually ended up. We had hotdogs, cake & ice cream & watched Braelyn open all of her gifts. She had so many presents to open! Katelyn kept asking me to play with each gift Braelyn opened! After the party was over we headed home & were all exhausted from the heat, we just couldn't do another party! We hope Emma & Braelyn both had a great birthday & thank you so much for inviting us!

Emma' 2nd Birthday

 

We were invited to 3 birthday parties this past Saturday & went to two of them. We started at Emma's 2ND birthday, the kids played with water guns & in the sand box & that was followed by cupcakes & Popsicles. Katelyn had so much fun getting soaked & squirting everyone. It felt pretty good to get squirted because it was unbearably hot! Luckily the party wasn't too far from our house so we ran home to change before the next party.

34 Weeks

 

It's getting closer, finally!! I hope this little boy comes early like his big sister, she came at 37 1/2 weeks & if he came then I would only have 2 1/2 more weeks. I can't get my hopes up for that but it sure would be nice for him to come a little early. I have been extremely tired the last few days & the swelling was really bad last weekend. I will try to take it easy over the next few weeks & get plenty of rest, when that's possible. I go to the Dr. tomorrow & will start going every week after this week. I'm trying to keep my progress up to date & take as many pictures as I can these last few weeks.

We had a great 4th this year, on Saturday we went to the other side of the river & spent the day with our friends Josh & Heather. Josh cooked some great ribs & we had homemade ice cream for dessert (something I have been craving for a few months now). Katelyn enjoyed riding the golf cart & everytime I turned around she had someone riding her around on it.

On Sunday we had Mimi, Papa, Amanda, Gramps, Gigi & Jennifer at our house for lunch. The food was great & the company even better! Gigi brought Katelyn some playdoh & that's all she wanted to play with the rest of the day. Gramps bought some fireworks & we shot a few during the day & the rest later that night. There was also a hula hoop that showed up & I got asked several times if I could do it, really!?! Does it look like I can hula hoop with a basketball on my stomach? It was pretty funny watching everyone try it out especially my dad! We had a wonderful day & I love spending time with our families.
